Breathe ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application, including our 960+ content library (meditations, sleep stories, ASMR, yoga, music, soundscapes, and mindset content), AI wellness chat, AI-generated personalized meditations, breathing exercises, body scan, focus timer, guided programs, mood tracking, post-session reflections, sleep timer, sleep alarm, AirPlay, Siri Shortcuts, Apple Watch companion app, home screen widgets, playlist, and content features.

Information We Collect

Personal Information:

• Email address (only if you contact support)

Usage Data (Stored Locally on Your Device):

• Content sessions completed (meditations, sleep stories, ASMR, yoga, music, soundscapes, mindset) and listen duration
• Post-session mood reflections
• Breathing exercise and body scan sessions
• Focus timer sessions and work/break intervals
• Guided program progress and completion
• Mood check-ins and mood tracking history
• App preferences, theme, and playback speed settings
• Favorite content selections and playlists
• Daily reminder and alarm preferences
• Streak and session history

AI Wellness Chat Data:

• Chat messages and conversation history are stored locally on your device
• Messages are sent to our AI service provider to generate responses but are not stored on external servers or used for AI training
• Free users are limited to 5 chat messages; premium users have unlimited access

AI-Generated Meditation Data:

• When you create an AI-generated meditation, your selected preferences (focus area, duration, voice) are sent to our AI service provider to generate a personalized script and audio
• Generated meditations are stored locally on your device in your "My Creations" playlist
• Your generation preferences are not stored on external servers or used for AI training
• Free users may generate 1 AI meditation; premium users may generate up to 5 per day

Health Data (Optional):

• If you enable Apple Health integration, we write Mindful Minutes to Apple Health
• We do not read or access any other health data from Apple Health
• Health data is never shared with third parties or used for advertising

iCloud Sync Data:

• Favorites, playlists, and session history may sync via iCloud to your other devices
• This data is governed by Apple's iCloud privacy policies

How We Use Your Information

All usage data is processed locally on your device to:

• Provide and maintain the App's functionality
• Personalize your meditation recommendations
• Power the AI wellness chat with contextual responses
• Track your progress, streaks, and program completion
• Display mood insights, trends, and post-session reflections
• Manage your playlists and favorites
• Send daily reminders and sleep alarms (if enabled)
• Write mindful minutes to Apple Health (if enabled)
• Process subscription transactions through Apple

Data Storage and Security

Your meditation history, mood data, post-session reflections, program progress, and preferences are stored locally on your device using Apple's secure SwiftData storage. iCloud-synced data is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple. Health data is written to Apple Health and governed by Apple's privacy framework. We do not operate external servers that store your personal data.

Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

• Apple App Store (for purchases and subscriptions)
• Apple Health (for optional mindful minutes recording)
• Apple iCloud (for optional data sync across devices)
• Apple Spotlight (for on-device content indexing)
• Apple Siri (for voice-activated shortcuts)
• Cloudflare R2 (for hosting and streaming content — meditations, sleep stories, ASMR, yoga, music, soundscapes, and mindset content)
• OpenAI (to process chat messages and generate wellness responses, and to generate personalized AI meditation scripts and audio)
• Firebase Analytics (for anonymous, aggregated usage analytics to improve the app experience)
• AppsFlyer (for anonymous attribution analytics to understand how users discover the app)

Chat messages and AI meditation generation requests sent to OpenAI are used solely to generate responses and are not retained or used for training. Firebase Analytics and AppsFlyer collect only anonymous, non-personally-identifiable data.

Advertising & Tracking

We do not display advertisements. We use Firebase Analytics and AppsFlyer for anonymous, aggregated usage analytics only — no personal data is shared. We do not sell, share, or rent your personal information to third parties. You may opt out of analytics tracking through iOS App Tracking Transparency settings.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data (stored on your device)
• Delete all your data by uninstalling the App
• Disable Apple Health integration at any time
• Disable iCloud sync at any time in iOS Settings
• Disable notifications, reminders, and alarms at any time
• Remove Siri Shortcuts in the Shortcuts app

Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

Data Retention

All data is stored locally on your device and in your personal iCloud account. Uninstalling the App deletes all local data. iCloud data can be managed through iOS Settings. Health data written to Apple Health can be managed through the Health app. We do not retain any data on external servers.

International Users

Chat messages are processed by our AI provider which may operate servers in the United States. All other data remains on your device or in your personal iCloud account.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy in the App and updating the "Last Updated" date.
